Local units of government have experience using a fog seal over chip sealed pavement. This practice is often used on low volume roads with residential driveways. Residents often complain about the impact of the fog seal on driveways. Research is needed to understand the effectiveness of fog seal over chip sealed pavements and results interpreted in outreach materials to help educate stakeholders on the benefits of the practice.
